IQ50 Summer Birthday Bash
Sunday July 12 at 16.30
Join me for a vibrant summer celebration of 50 years of fun at the Jäneda Manor and KiKuMu festival grounds.
And nope, 50 is not my IQ... phew. It's a handy nickname of one of the many I've had - Xavier, Aiq, Aiku, IQ, Laane Aff, Kino-Aivar and so on.
TL;DR Vibes will be along these lines as the photo right next here. Story of the image I'll share at the bash.
Mariam Karalashvili-Laan & Rusudan Chuntishvili (🇬🇪 🇪🇪)
Where The River Takes Us -
Piano Concert For 4 Hands
Rivers carry memory, distance, longing,
and change. So do people. We arrive in unfamiliar places for countless reasons — love, survival, ambition, exile, curiosity — and slowly the current of life begins to shape us.
Tonight’s music traces those journeys: from galaxy to inner worlds, across landscapes, and toward the unknown places the river takes us.
As the journey changes, who do we become?
Are we searching for a destination, or simply learning how to enjoy the flow?
Very Special Performances
With ❤️ from IQ50 personal 🇬🇪 connection, something truly unique and spectacular as one time only performances for my guests.
DJ kidjamjuice (GE 🇬🇪)
At IQ50 popup bar and Mikkeller DJ stage of KiKuMu Courtyard from 19.00 onwards
Kidjamjuice comes from a strong musical background, starting with classical piano and later moving into jazz and live band performing. Spending years behind the drums in funk, blues, rock, and jazz projects shaped his deep connection to groove and rhythm, which now defines the foundation of his sound.
As a DJ and selector, he’s constantly experimenting — blending different genres and textures in a way that feels seamless, almost like one continuous composition. His sets move between Tech-House, Funky House, Deep-Tech, and jacking House, driven by groove and flow rather than strict boundaries between styles.
He also brings a personal touch to every performance, often layering his own samples and melodies over tracks, along with subtle foley sounds that naturally blend into the mix. This approach adds depth and atmosphere, giving his sets a distinctive, organic feel.
Gilles Peterson (UK)
Gilles Peterson is my absolute hero, and one of the reasons I decided to sync the bash with KiKuMu festival.
Gilles, British DJ and broadcaster, with impeccable taste in music curation, has long struggled to shake off the label of
“the world’s best DJ.”
At the very first KIKUMU festival in 2025, Gilles famously turned Sunday into the new Friday with a three-and-a-half-hour set.
This year, he returns with a similar intent, closing the festival with a celebration of groove, funk, house and beyond.
“And Gilles, I still haven’t found those cassettes, god damn it!”
KiKuMu Festival Sunday Artists
Panda Bear & Sonic Boom (US/UK)
Panda Bear (from the legendary Animal Collective) & Sonic Boom (via the as legendary Spacemen 3) met via MySpace 20 years ago after Panda Bear thanked Spacemen 3 in the liner notes of his album Person Pitch.
In 2016 Sonic Boom left his home in England for Portugal where Panda Bear was already residing. The two have since forged an enduring partnership with Sonic Boom co-producing a spate of Panda Bear releases including 2011’s Tomboy, including performing the album live together, and worked closely on 2015’s Panda Bear Meets the Grim Reaper.
In 2022 Sonic Boom pitched an idea to take their working relationship to the next level, resulting in the collaboration of RESET, an album of gloriously, feverishly hook-bound tracks. The duo continues to make music and perform live together as Panda Bear & Sonic Boom bring their show straight from Roskilde to KIKUMU festival in Jäneda, Estonia.
